The 12 laws of Karma are teachings that can help us become better people and live better lives.
When you live in accordance with the 12 laws of Karma, in fact, you create POSITIVE Karma in your life.
Therefore, you can use these laws as guidelines to follow as you go through your daily life and enhance the chance to reap good fruits in your life instead of bad ones.
Let’s dive into each of these laws in more detail, so that you can benefit from them and start becoming the maker of your life, instead of a spectator.
1) THE GREAT LAW:
It reads “as you sow, so shall you reap”.
In other words, what you give is what you’ll receive, be it positive or negative.
So, if you want love in your life, be loving.
If you want to enjoy financial abundance, be generous. If you want to have close relationships, then, offer authenticity and honesty to the people you interact with.
“Life is like a garden, you reap what you sow”. - Paulo Coelho
2) THE LAW OF CREATION:
According to this law, we must be active participants in our lives if we want to get what we want.
You don’t just wait for good things to magically happen in your life.
You have to actively go out there and make things happen.
“You are the author of your life. If you don’t like how it goes, write it differently”. - Iva Kenaz
3) THE LAW OF HUMILITY:
The pivotal point of this law is that you have to accept the true reality of something before you can ever change it.
For example, if you constantly blame or praise others for the things you have created, or see someone who disagrees with you as an enemy, you are out of step with reality.
Therefore, you’ll find it very difficult to make the changes you need.
Introspection can help you take full advantage of the law of humility.
“Humility is not denying your strengths, humility is being honest about your weaknesses”. - Rick Warren
4) THE LAW OF GROWTH:
The message is that you need to work on a change in yourself before expecting the world around you to change.
All you have is control over yourself and not over the people or things around you.
So, focus on your own development before trying to control or change others.
Let them come to their own conclusions about what needs to change.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world”. - Mahatma Gandhi
5) THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Being responsible means taking on the task of deciding what to be, where to be, and what to do to get there.
As with the Law of Growth, we cannot expect things to change around us, rather we must ourselves be an instrument of change, as Gandhi himself urged.
In a nutshell, this law is about taking ownership of everything that happens in our lives, above all the not-so-good stuff.
We are responsible for how we choose to live our lives, nobody else!
“It is only when you take responsibility for your life that you discover how powerful YOU truly are”. - Allanah Hunt
6) THE LAW OF CONNECTION:
This law states that each step leads to the next.
Everything in the Universe is connected; likewise, past, present, and future are linked by a common thread.
If we want to change, we have to work on it.
One step leads to another and each is important to achieve a goal.
Everything you've experienced has led to something else, which in turn led to something else too.
It’s all linked up! Furthermore, we’re connected to other people too.
Therefore, we must get to work to change these links if we want something different out of our lives.
“We are all connected to everyone and everything in the Universe. Therefore, everything one does as an individual affects the whole. All thoughts, words, images, prayers, blessings, and deeds are listened to by all that is”. - Serge King
7) THE LAW OF FOCUS:
This law states that you cannot put your energy towards two things simultaneously.
Our minds cannot follow different thoughts and be equally efficient.
Therefore, you’d better focus on one goal at a time instead of multi-tasking.
This law also stresses that you cannot focus on higher and lower values at the same time.
In a nutshell, you cannot harbor negative emotions and expect to grow spiritually.
“Do not try to do everything. Do one thing well”. - Steve Jobs
8) THE LAW OF GIVING AND HOSPITALITY:
This law is about practicing what you preach.
It’s about ensuring that you're not simply saying and thinking good thoughts, but that you also walk the walk and follow those beliefs with action.
There will come a time when you need to prove your beliefs.
For example, if you claim to be a true friend, then, at some point in your life you will be called upon to demonstrate this particular character trait.
This is where the rubber meets the road! When you claim a truth, that moment is where you prove the truth and find out exactly who you are.
“Actions prove who someone is, while words just prove who they pretend to be”. - Unknown
9) THE LAW OF HERE AND NOW:
This law discourages thinking about the past and the future.
Conversely, it encourages us to exist and to appreciate where we are now and what we are doing.
If you hold on too much to past feelings, experiences, and beliefs, you will always have one foot in the past.
Likewise, if you focus on anxiety or greed, you will always have one foot in the future.
This law serves as a reminder that the present is all you truly have and it is there to be fully savored.
Only when you are focused on the present moment, can you decide where you want to go and take the necessary steps to get there!
“Live in the present and shape the future, do not be casting lingering looks to the distant past for the past has passed away, never again to return”. - Subramanya Bharathi
10) THE LAW OF CHANGE:
History repeats itself unless we change! History will continue to repeat itself until you learn from past experiences and take different actions to set yourself on the right track.
If you do not commit yourself to changing things, things will always remain the same and history will continue to repeat itself indefinitely.
To influence your past you need to ponder on your present.
What would you like to change?
Only by answering this question will negative and limiting energies give way to positive and empowering ones.
“One thing’s for sure. If we keep doing what we’re doing, we’re going to keep getting what we’re getting. One definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results”. - Stephen R. Covey
11) THE LAW OF PATIENCE AND REWARDS:
This law states that success requires constant hard work.
This means that you need to be patient, regardless of your goals in life.
Only with patience and perseverance can you enjoy the final joys which, however, are not a final destination, but a starting point towards new goals.
This helps us feel alive and the protagonists of our present and our lives.
“Trees that are slow to grow, bear the best fruit”. - Molière
12) THE LAW OF SIGNIFICANCE & INSPIRATION:
Last but not least, is the law of meaning and inspiration, which is a great reminder when you need a motivational boost.
This law states that we all have value to give.
We all play a part and have something to contribute to this world!
So no matter how seemingly small and unimportant our contribution to the world may seem, it is important.
You may not feel meaningful, but you are, like everyone else.
Without your presence, the energy of the Universe would be altered.
All of us were born with a specific gift, mission, and purpose that only we can bring into the world.
Authentically sharing your skills and gifts is why you’re here and what gives zest and meaning to your life.
“There has never been and never will be another you. You have a purpose – a very special gift that only you can bring to the world”. - Marie Forleo

“Your life is a gift from the Creator. Your gift back to the Creator is what you do with your life”. - Billy Mills

You have just reminded me about the importance of focus. I knew about it, I know about it. As it is often the case it’s not knowing what to do but doing what we know that makes the change. I have to put more focus into fewer things now. Thank you Christian!
I am glad that this post reminded you of something as important as being FOCUS😃
