LIVING LIFE WITH THE HANDBRAKE ON

STOP LIVING LIFE WITH THE HANDBRAKE ON & LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE

Do you ever feel like you are wasting your life? Like you are living life with the handbrake on, merely surviving, instead of living your best life?

You see, most people reach their 60s, 70s, 80s, or even their deathbed and think about everything they could have done:

“I could have started my own business, instead of being trapped in my soul-sucking job, I could have traveled more, instead of staying in the same place for all my life, I could have nurtured my relationships, instead of ending up being alone, I could have spent more time with my loved ones when they were alive, instead of visiting them at the graveyard”.

Why should you live your whole life only to realize that it was wrong? Why should you live your life wishing you had done more and been more? Why should you live a dull life when you were born to live an extraordinary life?

 In Leo Brown’s words:

“Imagine being on your deathbed – and standing around your bed is the ghost of the dreams, the ideas, the abilities, the talents – given to you by life but for whatever reason, you never pursued those dreams. You never acted on those ideas. You never used those gifts. You never used those talents, and there they are, staring at you, as you are lying in your bed. With large angry eyes, they say, 'We came to YOU, and only YOU could have given us life. And now, we must die with you, forever’! The question is - if you die today, what dreams, what talents, what abilities, what gifts, what ideas would die with you”?

Most people engage in low-life living and low-risk living.

“And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more”. - Erica Jong

If you're not willing to risk you cannot evolve, and if you cannot evolve you cannot become your best.

In turn, if you cannot become your best, you cannot be fulfilled.

But if you cannot be fulfilled, you cannot be happy either; and if you cannot be happy, then what else is there?

TAKE THE LEAP

You have a gift, and whatever that gift is, it can make yourself and the people around you better.

The only way to do that is to take risks!

At one point, you have to take the leap to turn your life around, if you want to make your dreams come true.

Otherwise, society will eagerly accept you as a 9 to 5 slave working just to pay the bills and live for the weekend.

What a sad way to live!

If you always play safe, if you are too cautious and you never risk, you will most likely live a life full of regret.

What’s worse, your dreams and everything you ever had to offer to the world will die with you.

Don’t let it be your fate.

“The graveyard is the richest place on earth because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step to carry out their dream”. - Les Brown

WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO TAKE THE LEAP AND SHOOT FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY LIFE?

The main reason why people don't want to take risks is that they feel like they have a lot to lose.

Their current situation is relatively nice and above all they're comfortable.

They got used to a basic standard of living, from having an outing at the weekend to watching Netflix after a working day.

In a nutshell, they opted for an easy life.

That’s a big problem!

When you get comfortable you don't want to move and your comfort zone persuades you to stay in it for as long as possible.

Before long, you see your whole life slip through your fingers.

You realize you have lived a dull life, a life with the handbrake on, missing many opportunities.

STRIVE FOR GREATNESS NOT FOR AVERAGE

“I’m pissed off for greatness. Because if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre”. - Ray Lewis

There’s GREATNESS in YOU!

Decide that you’re going to give it all, that you’ll push yourself, instead of sleepwalking through life.

Tell yourself every day:

“I’ve got what it takes to create my best life. This is MY LIFE and NOTHING and NO-ONE is going to stop me from living it to the fullest”.

Everyone should live to their full potential.

However, only a few prefer to pay the price of discipline and pursue their dreams.

99% of people prefer to be comfortable and pay the price of regret later on.

I would rather die trying to live my dreams than live a long life full of regret.

What about you?

I would rather live each day as if it were my last and take risks to make myself as successful and happy as possible than be sitting on my deathbed regretting not taking a chance.

I make a covenant to myself that when I am 90 I won’t think to myself:

“What could my life have been like if I had taken the leap when I was 20, or 30, or even 50”?

Conversely, I want to look back and be proud of living an adventurous existence.

“Don’t ask for security, ask for adventure. Better to live 30 years full of adventure than 100 years safe in the corner”. - Jim Rohn

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE!

What would your life be like as you look towards your future if you decided you are not going to allow any fears and excuses to hold you back any longer?

If today were your last day on earth, would you want to spend it doing the things you want to do or the things society and others expect you to do?

Are you on a journey that you have chosen, or that someone else has chosen for you?

Are you investing your time wisely or squandering it?

Be brave to do what you would be proud of if you were forced to look back on your life and question how you lived it.

Don’t live with regret. Don’t live with the handbrake on, press the pedal to the metal instead.

Follow your heart more than your head and your intuition more than the expectations from those close to you.

Think with your own head instead of following the crowd. Be the black sheep!

Make sure you get to the end of your life with PRIDE and JOY,  fearless and striving for greatness.

Never stop yourself from living to your full potential.

It’s high time you made a change, not excuses! Start TODAY, one step at a time, it’s not about perfection, but about progression.

As of TODAY what are you going to do that will make a difference and bring about a great change in your life direction?

If you don't start making a change TODAY, guess what?

Your life will be the same!

Don’t let another day go by excusing yourself without taking action towards creating your best life.

The choice is YOURS!
