man is pushing a boulder

When the shit hits the fan, when nothing goes according to your plan, and - what’s more - when YOU cannot see results, it’s common to end up thinking…

"Should I give up"?

YOU MUST keep putting in work, because eventually if YOU carry on, YOU will succeed.

How can YOU keep pushing forward when YOU feel overwhelmed and YOU cannot see a way out?

1) YOU MUST remind yourself WHY YOU have to succeed in whatever GOAL YOU are pursuing.

writing: what's your why?

Let’s have a look at some examples:

Let’s say that, like me, YOU are trying to build your own online business from the ground up.

YOU have been investing TIME, ENERGY, and MONEY, but YOU haven’t achieved the results that YOU want, i.e. QUIT THE CORPORATE RAT RACE AND GAIN TIME AND GEOGRAPHICAL FREEDOM, yet.

Reminding yourself WHY YOU MUST keep moving forward despite the knockbacks you are coming across will keep YOU on track.

For instance, I MUST succeed in my online business because:

  • I want to support my family,
  • I want to inspire as many people as possible to follow their dream, stop trading TIME for MONEY, and create a lifestyle around something they love.

Can YOU see my point?

I am shooting for a GOAL that doesn’t involve only my life, but which can influence the lives of many other people too.

This is the POWER of having a strong WHY, a REASON for which YOU MUST become UNSTOPPABLE.

“Those who have a 'WHY' to live, can bear with almost any 'HOW'”. - Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

You may tell me...I have not a GOAL like yours!

That’s completely fine because it doesn’t matter.

At the end of the day whatever YOU are working on, e.g. losing 10 kilos, eating healthy food, studying a new language, etc….

it all boils down to your WHY, the reason for which YOU cannot have a PLAN B.

YOU only have a PLAN, that’s PLAN A.

YOU cannot afford to be distracted by PLAN B.

YOU MUST develop the following attitude:

“I will not give up; either I am going to succeed or I am going to die while I am chasing my GOAL”.

YOU have to TRAIN your MIND every single day, YOU MUST ingrain the following belief in yourself:

“I’m going to do whatever it takes to become who I want to be no matter what’s going to show up along the way and I will win”.

Building this kind of attitude is a process and so is achieving your GOALS.

It takes time and effort because it means thinking out of the box.

And this is quite unfamiliar because it’s not what society has been teaching us.

Our culture is geared towards SHORT-TERM GRATIFICATION.

We have everything at our fingertips.

We have been trained to look for immediate enjoyment.

If YOU are hungry nowadays what YOU only have to do is contact your trustworthy Deliveroo and that’s it.

YOU no longer need to bother yourself to go to the market, to the restaurant, get your food ready to be eaten.

Not to mention movies, games, and all the other entertainment that we can access straight away through Amazon, Netflix, Apple TV, etc...

What about education, with the net now YOU can access all the information YOU need.

That’s cool, society has created plenty of ways to make our life EASIER and COMFORTABLE.

Unfortunately what makes YOU succeed is not just as cool and straightforward.

SUCCESS cannot happen while YOU are living a COMFORTABLE ROUTINE.

YOU MUST step out of your COMFORT ZONE to enable yourself to move forward and become who YOU want to be.

The famous actor Will Smith once said:

“YOU don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say I am going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built. YOU don’t start there. YOU say I am going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid. YOU do that every single day. And soon YOU have a wall”. - Will Smith

two hands are holding one brick

Don’t trust what YOU can see on Facebook, Instagram, etc...about other people’s achievements (living in a huge villa with all the luxury, having the perfect body, or the brand new supercar, etc...).

Don’t fool yourself into thinking that YOU can get the same outcomes without paying the PRICE.

Success is like an iceberg, most of the time we tend to look only at the surface (the RESULTS), forgetting what there is beneath...

iceberg compared to success

YOU MUST sweat, fight, cry, come across pain, and failure before YOU get where YOU want to go.

The secret to getting to your destination dwells in:

I want YOU to look back and acknowledge all the accomplishments that YOU have achieved.

Were they like taking candy from a baby?

Certainly not!

YOU put in hours and hours of hard training to be in shape, YOU ate healthy food for years to feel wonderful, YOU saved some money every month before YOU were able to buy the house YOU were dreaming of, etc...

YOU MUST remind yourself that what YOU have achieved in your past required commitment and perseverance.

And how did YOU achieve the results YOU wanted?

YOU didn’t GIVE UP!

2) The second way to become UNSTOPPABLE whenever YOU feel that YOU are spinning your wheels and YOU are ready to GIVE UP is:

BECOMING AWARE of all the STEPS that YOU have already taken, the HASSLE that YOU have already gone through.

writing: I still have a long way to go, but I'm already so far from where I used to be

Whether YOU are on a diet, or in a training program, or, like me,  building your online business from scratch, YOU have already invested a lot.

Ask yourself two questions:

  • Is giving up at this stage worth, considering that I have already put in a lot of work, energy, time, and money?
  • Which is more PAINFUL: the REGRET that comes from GIVING UP or the work, the effort, the time, the money needed to accomplish my GOALS?

If YOU are anything like me and YOU are really obsessed with what YOU want to become, I can assure YOU that there’s nothing more PAINFUL than GIVING UP.

Realizing all the progress that YOU have already made is very useful.

Whether YOU have been following your GOALS for one week, one month, or one year…

YOU are one week, one month, or one year...ahead compared to when YOU started.

And that shows YOU that YOU can succeed because YOU have taken the first step towards living the life YOU want.

What YOU have to make sure of is that YOU keep going forward.

3) My third and last suggestion is to visualize yourself on your deathbed.

man is lying dead in his bed with a ghost close to him

“Imagine being on your death bed, and standing around YOU is the ghost of the dreams, the ideas, the abilities, the talents given to YOU by life but for whatever reason YOU never went after those dreams. You never acted on those ideas. You never used your talents. You never used those gifts; and there they are staring at YOU, as YOU are lying on your bed. With large, angry eyes they say, we came to YOU, and only YOU could have given us life!.. And now...we must die with you forever”. - Les Brown

If YOU are reading this post, chances are that YOU are thinking of GIVING UP.

Don’t do that!

Don’t kill your DREAMS!

Don’t allow the “REGRET GHOST” to show up at the end of your day!

YOU can breakthrough, sooner or later YOU can look back and say to yourself:

“Look at me now: I have become who I have always wanted to be, what would my life be like if I had given up”?

Chinese Bamboo Tree

Do YOU know how long it takes for the giant Chinese bamboo tree to grow as tall as 80 feet?

During the first year, the seeds are watered and fertilized, but no visible signs of growth appear.

They are watered and fertilized for another whole year, and another, and another, and still nothing happens…

Then in the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo shoots up to the sky.

It grows to 80 feet in six weeks!

But does it really grow so tall in only a few weeks?

No, it takes five years to grow.

What would have happened if the farmer had stopped nurturing it at any point during those 5 years?

The Chinese bamboo would have died!

What was happening throughout this long time?

The tree was developing an enormous network of roots strong enough to support its potential for outward growth in the fifth year and beyond.

Had the tree not built a strong unseen foundation it could not have sustained its life as it grew.

What does the Chinese bamboo story teach us?

GROWTH and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT take perseverance and patience.

Before YOU can see the results YOU MUST go through a long process.

What makes the difference in enabling YOU to succeed no matter what YOU are trying to achieve is your ability to persevere even when YOU cannot see any growth on the surface.

Every drop of water makes a difference for the Chinese bamboo.

Likewise, every step YOU make takes YOU closer to your destination.

YOU may not spot the change right away, but YOU are developing “the muscles”, the strength, the mindset, the foundation needed to become the person YOU want to be.

Let me ask YOU…

Are going to do whatever it’s needed to succeed?

Are YOU going to become UNSTOPPABLE and see the RESULTS of your hard work?

If so, YOU will be like the GIANT BAMBOO TREE!

And your life will unexpectedly turn out to be the MIRACLE YOU had never imagined.
